Organizational Performance and Training Needs Analysis

Many businesses continue to throw training programs at performance development without really understanding the goals and the needs to be addressed.  This is expensive and ineffective.

Our Organizational Performance and Training Needs Analysis service identifies the root causes and factors that influence employee performance.

We investigate the four primary factors that influence performance and determine if they are aligned, accurate, and effective.  Without making sure all of these components are present training doesn’t stick, managers don’t support and enable, people are not motivated or engaged, and the work environment may be inhibiting performance.

Through interviews, observations, assessments, and research we perform all or a selection of the following activities:

  • Business Analysis – Identification of company-wide and departmental goals, objectives and metrics.  Establishes foundation for the determination of the ROI of enablement recommendations.

  • Audience Analysis – Identification of specific target audiences to be enabled.  This identifies each target audience’s entry level skills, attitudes and beliefs and performance needs.

  • Competency Analysis – Assessment and identification of skill and knowledge needs related to desired performances oriented to  products, processes, and services.

  • Process Analysis – Identification and analysis of business processes and practices to be transferred to target audiences.  This identifies how training or enablement solutions integrate into business practices.

  • Situational/Environmental Analysis – Analysis of the environment in which performances occur.  Includes identification of existing and needed tools, systems, process, and other environmental factors that contribute to or inhibit performance.

  • Subject Matter Expert/Content Analysis – Review and analysis of all existing documentation and other information sources.  Includes interviewing and observing subject matter experts/master performers.

  • Gap Analysis – Analysis and identification of needed skills and knowledge within each key audience through the comparison of existing skills and knowledge and required skills and knowledge.
